Navigating the mountain heights
Mountaineering

Mountaineering in the TZA? Absolutely!

While we may not have 4,000-meter peaks or large glaciers, we do have rugged mountains that, despite their relatively modest height, offer a true challenge for most mountaineers. Starting with the Zugspitze, you can tackle the Austrian Schneekar route and descend via the Jubiläumsgrat. Then there's the Sonnenspitze – the "Matterhorn" of the TZA – and the ascent to Wampeter Schrofen, notorious for its tough reputation. You'll find an exciting route for everyone here!

And if you're still yearning for higher peaks, the Pitztal is just an hour's drive from the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena, where you can ascend the Wildspitze, Tyrol's highest summit at 3,774 meters.

Happy climbing!
